Cheeseburger Mac

Easy Cheeseburger Mac

There are some nights that I need something so easy, so effortless to make, that I reach for my four ingredient favorite, Cheeseburger Mac.  The family loves it, the flavor is rich and delicious, and I don’t have to do much to make it.  Best yet, it doesn’t come out of a box, nor is it made from “powdered” cheese.  Ew!  Cheeseburger Mac expands to feed a crowd and you can even add in your favorite flavors to change it up once in a while.  Cheeseburger Mac is definitely an invaluable recipe that has saved my behind on more than one occasion.

Making Cheeseburger Mac with What’s On Hand

I often make Cheeseburger Mac with whatever I have available.  The pasta is always up in the air.  Sometimes it’s elbow, sometimes it’s penne.  This time, it was bow ties.  Tri color bow ties, because it’s what I had.  A pound of ground beef for a single batch adds flavor and protein to this simple dish.  Lastly comes the cheese.  I love a good cheddar, but you can use anything and everything you have, from shredded to sliced, and even chunked.  American cheese makes a good creamy base while adding in other, sharper flavors will enhance the dish.

  1. Brown the ground beef until no pink remains. Drain.
  2. In a large pot, add the pasta and beef.
  3. Slowly add the cheese, heating over medium heat. Stir and add more as the cheese melts.
  4. Add milk as needed to make the cheese creamy and into a sauce.
  5. Serve hot.

Changing Up Your Cheeseburger Mac

There are so many ways you can change your Cheeseburger Mac.  Add a bit of dry mustard for a great flavor boost.  Serve it with ketchup and mustard for a classic cheeseburger flavor.  You can even set out a bar of goodies to go with your Cheeseburger Mac, such as crumbled bacon, blue cheese, steamed broccoli, and stewed tomatoes.  Let everyone top their Cheeseburger Mac as they like!  I’ve even set out leftover chili as a topper for Cheeseburger Mac, much to my family’s delight.  Get creative, empty the fridge, and enjoy Cheeseburger Mac for a quick meal any time.
