Bacon in Hot BLT Dip

I chose a bacon that I love for Hot BLT Dip.  It’s a wonderful thick cut bacon that packs a lot of flavor and really adds a great bite to Hot BLT Dip.  When sauteing it crisp, I like to cut it first and fry it in the pan as pieces instead of whole slices.  It cooks a lot faster, especially when cooking this much all at once, and it gets nice and crispy.  You don’t have to worry about breaking it up after it’s cooked.  While you could use low fat versions of the other ingredients, I tend not to use low fat ingredients because they are usually more processed, and more likely to contain artificial ingredients.  Since I don’t make this dip often, it’s a treat and a delicious one at that.

Hot BLT Dip, Crockpot Style!

Hot BLT Dip is amazing in your crockpot!  I bake it in the crock, then put it in the warming sleeve to keep it hot.  I usually stir in the tomatoes, and don’t use the lettuce as it gets wilty and slimy when you make it in the crockpot.  But, it’s an awesome way to keep it warm during a party, or even to take it to work for a carry-in.  Any way you make it Hot BLT Dip is one of those yummy snacks that you will love to make for any occasion.
