Boston Blue Salad

My favorite salad of all time is the Boston Blue Salad.  My daughter goes for the Caesar Salad and I will do a Cobb Salad if I don’t have fresh Boston lettuce.  That is the key to making an awesome Boston Blue Salad, having fresh Boston lettuce.  Boston lettuce is a wonderfully flavorful lettuce with a unique butter like quality.  As a matter of fact, it is also called butterhead lettuce in many areas of the country.

Although you can dress this salad with any dressing, using ranch dressing is authentic.  The ranch dressing actually compliments the blue cheese so well that you may want to dress every salad this way.  You can use your favorite ranch dressing or you can make your own.  I have a ranch dressing recipe here.

Now that you see how easy this salad is to make, are you going to try it?  Warning: This salad is addicting.  The recipe above is enough to share, however, I rarely do.

Also, you can make this salad your own by using other lettuces, leaving out the blue cheese or even adding sunflower seeds.

So, how do you like the Boston Blue Salad recipe?
