Brownies on Demand!
Brownies are one of my go-to’s when I’m feeling down, or when I want to celebrate and Brownies on Demand makes that easy. Maybe it’s the chocolate, maybe it’s the amazing chewiness that releases the stress in my jaw when the day has been sour. Any way you look at it, brownies put a smile on just about everyone. So when I was told about this amazing recipe that you can mix up in bulk in advance and bake whenever the mood strikes, I was all over that! I made a triple batch, put it in a tightly sealed container, and waited for that mood to arrive.
How Easy are Brownies on Demand?
Brownies on Demand are so easy, even a caveman can make them! Well, seriously, they are pretty darned easy. I grabbed a big bowl and made a triple batch, mixed it well, spooned it into a large container, and put it in my pantry, which is actually part of my garage. Five whole minutes passed. And I went back down to my garage, grabbed the large container, and started making brownies. I didn’t even use a bowl to mix them. I grabbed an 8×8 glass pan on the way to the oven to preheat, and then stirred everything together, right in the pan. The only thing I dirtied were the measuring cups, and a fork. Which, really, was only a method of stirring and getting to taste brownie batter. I know I shouldn’t, but it’s so hard to resist! Somehow, I let them cool (by leaving my house and going to an appointment!) and when I cut into them, I could just tell. Crispy edges, gooey middle, and an amazing real chocolate flavor that reminded me of brownies when I was a kid. I’m officially in love with a brownie!
So here is the recipe for a single batch of Brownies on Demand, enough to make one 8×8 or 9×9 pan. If you want to multiply it, which I whole heartedly recommend, just remember to use 1 3/4 cup plus 1 tablespoon of mix.
- 1 C sugar
- 1/2 C flour
- 1/3 C cocoa
- 1/4 t salt
- 1/4 t baking powder
- Mix all ingredients and either use right away or store in a well-labeled container for later.
- When you are ready to use it, add 2 eggs, 1/2 C oil, and 1/2 t vanilla. Mix well. Bake in a preheated 350 degree F oven for 20 to 25 minutes.
