Chicken Sliders

Chicken Sliders for Any Occasion

Sliders, if you’ve never had the occasion to have one, is a thin, seasoned burger that’s put on what looks like a dinner roll, and then topped with cheese and onions.  Originally found at greasy spoon type diners, they got their name because they were a somewhat greasy burger that slid down easily with the bun.  I love a good slider, but I knew I could make something that was not only tastier, but also healthier.  Chicken Sliders start with ground chicken and goes from there, adding flavor and reducing the fat.  They feed a crowd, and best off, you can freeze Chicken Sliders for later!

Easy Chicken Sliders in Minutes

Making Chicken Sliders is fast and easy.  I started with ground chicken and added Montreal steak seasoning.  After a good mixing, I let it sit in the fridge for about an hour, letting the flavors meld.  Then I had a stroke of genius.  Most sliders are made on a griddle or in a frying pan, but I wanted to try something different.  I rolled the Chicken Sliders meat between two layers of parchment and baked it.  Full disclosure: when I rolled the meat out between the parchment, it stuck and I couldn’t peel off the top layer as I wanted to, so I baked it like it was and it release while it baked, making perfect sliders!  I topped my sliders with red onions that I sauteed in butter, as well as some cheddar cheese.  A schmear of mayonnaise and I had perfect Chicken Sliders that everyone in my family gobbled up!
