It’s Monday morning, and you want breakfast, but really, who wants to get out all the ingredients and make batter for waffles?  I’m not awake enough for that!  So, break open a tube of cinnamon rolls!  That’s all you need for an amazing Cinnamon Roll Waffles breakfast.  Well, that and a waffle maker.  And about 10 minutes.  Your kids will be happily munching a quick breakfast, and you’ll be the hero.  All for tossing pre-made cinnamon rolls on the waffle maker and making Cinnamon Roll Waffles.

Tips and Tricks for Cinnamon Roll Waffles

First and foremost, if you want Cinnamon Roll Waffles that you’ll love, make sure you love the type of cinnamon rolls you purchase!  It doesn’t matter if they are orange rolls, cream cheese rolls, or caramel rolls.  They all taste great (to me) as Cinnamon Roll Waffles.  Just make sure they taste good to you as a roll and you’re all set.  The second trick to Cinnamon Roll Waffles is cooking spray.  Sticky, gooey Cinnamon Roll Waffles will stick easily to the waffle maker if you don’t spray the heated plates before placing the rolls.  With those two rules, even kids who can handle the waffle iron can make breakfast!

Ingredients

  • 1 tube cinnamon rolls
  • cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Heat waffle maker per manufacturer’s directions.
  2. Spray liberally with cooking spray.
  3. Open the cinnamon rolls and separate.
  4. Place one in each section of the waffle maker and close the lid.
  5. Allow to cook until the cinnamon rolls are golden brown and crispy.
  6. Remove from waffle iron and spoon icing over top, if desired.
  7. Continue with remaining cinnamon rolls.
  8. Serve warm.

Making Cinnamon Roll Waffles for a Crowd

If you have a crowd for breakfast or brunch, you can make Cinnamon Roll Waffles ahead of time and simply keep them warm in the oven turned to the lowest setting.  If you place them on a cookie sheet lined in paper towels, they will stay crispy until you are ready to serve them.  You can serve Cinnamon Roll Waffles with butter and syrup, or stick with the icing that comes with the cinnamon rolls.  Either way, the result will be perfect.  Cinnamon Roll Waffles will be the hit of breakfast and you won’t have to make waffle batter!
