Starbucks Caramel Macchiato

Copycat Starbucks Caramel Macchiato

My favorite drink at Starbucks is the Starbucks Caramel Macchiato.  I love it iced, but when I can make it at home, I love it any way I can get it!  This drink is amazingly easy to make too.  I do have one “Specialty” tool that I use to get the frothy milk.  I use the Ozeri Milk Frother to get the frothy milk on top of my Macchiato.  If you have been following my blog for a while, you know that I am not a fan of “Specialty Tools”.  I really like tools that are also multi-taskers.  And this Ozeri Milk Frother actually fits that by also being a cocktail blender and egg beater.

So, anyway, now for the directions on this amazing Copycat Starbucks Caramel Macchiato.  You will need 6 oz of your favorite coffee (brewed strong).  I actually like to use the Starbucks Caffe VeronaKCups in my Keurig.  You will also need about 3 oz of milk, 2-3 teaspoons of caramel and 1/4 tsp of vanilla extract.

Here we go!

Copycat Starbucks Caramel Macchiato

3oz of Milk
1/4 tsp Vanilla Extract
6 oz Coffee brewed VERY strong (or 6 oz brewed Starbucks Caffe Verona thru KCup)
2 teaspoons of Caramel sauce

Warm the milk in your desired coffee mug (must hold at least 12 oz) in the microwave for 30-45 seconds.  Add vanilla extract and froth for 10-15 seconds until you have the desired amount of foam.  Froth longer if you like very dry froth. If you don’t have a milk frother, I have taken a small wisk and rolled the handle in between my hands to make the froth.  It works, but I like the drier foam and I cannot get it that way.

Brew the KCup or pour the coffee over the frothed milk and top with caramel sauce.

You can sweeten this however you like.  That is why I like making it at home.  I like the vanilla taste from the vanilla extract without all the sugar from the vanilla syrup.  I like to get just that hint of sweetness when the coffee picks up some of the caramel sauce on the way.

So, now you know that the Starbucks Caramel Macchiato is my favorite coffee drink, what is yours?

  1. Yum :) I have been making this myself only the multi purpose tool I use is my French Press. It makes excellent coffee and a fairly stable foam. Such deliciousness

  2. I recently started sharing recipes on The Jenny Evolution and thought it would be terrific to have a group on FB where we can share our recipes not just with other bloggers but with people who are searching out recipes. That said, I’m launching a Food Blogger group! If we work together we can make this a great outlet for all of us. If you’d like to join, visit me here

To be approved post to the group, please follow the directions in the group description. Look forward to seeing you there!

  3. Caramel Macchiato is also my favorite. Thanks for the recipe.
    Mmmmm..want to try it now.

  4. My favorite as well and I’m glad to know how you’ve made it at home. I can do that in the morning only I’ll be using a Nespresso frother!

  5. I’m not much of a coffee drinker, but it looks great! Thanks for linking up this week. I’m featuring you this week.

  6. This is my favourite Starbucks drink, too, and it sounds so easy! Crazy that Starbucks can charge a ton of money for something so simple. Thanks for linking this up with the Weekend Wind-Down party!

    Nicole =)

  7. I love to start my mornings off with coffee and quiet time! This would be the perfect coffee drink for me! Sweet and strong :) Glad I hopped over from Weekend Wind Down!

  8. I go back and forth between Chai Tea Latte’s and Caramel Macchiato’s. Since I’ve been working on cutting my costs, I haven’t been able to enjoy a Caramel Machiato very often as I didn’t know how to make it at home…something tells me now that I will be enjoying them a bit more. Thanks for sharing.

  9. This looks delicious gonna make it today!

  10. I LOVE these but live no where close. When we can make things like this at home, we often find the desire to go out for them decreases significantly. Thanks for the recipe.

  11. I’m coming over from Mouthwatering Mondays. This looks so good! Can’t wait to try it!

  12. Caramel Macchiato is my favorite drink as well but I always ask for 1/4 of the syrup to cut down on sugars. I love your recipe because it is pretty simple and natural (especially if I use homemade caramel sauce!)

  13. So sorry about the link, I hit the wrong button.

  14. My favorite is a Raspberry Latte, but Caramel Macchiato comes in at a close second. Pinning!
