Copycat Starbucks Iced Mocha
Breakfast of champions, right? Maybe not, but saving money and having one of my favorite coffee beverages at home makes me feel like a champion. And this coffee is so easy to do. To chill the coffee for this, I make my coffee when I first wake up, put what I will need 4-8 oz in the fridge and go take my shower. 30 mins later, it is perfectly ready to make this recipe. This recipe makes 1 Tall beverage. If you are going for a Venti, double it.
4 oz Fresh Brewed coffee (chilled)
1 – 2 teaspoons of granulated sugar (depending on how sweet you like it)
1 Tablespoon Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup (or your favorite chocolate syrup)
3-4 Ice Cubes
5 oz Milk
Whipped Cream for topping
Crushed cookie crumbs (or chocolate syrup for drizzling over top)
Combine coffee, sugar, milk and chocolate syrup. Add Ice cubes, top with whipped cream and cookie crumbs. You can make this Copycat Starbucks Iced Mocha at home for about 50c per cup (depending on the price of your coffee grounds). Compare that to almost $5 for this beverage at Starbucks and you really are saving a ton! Even if you only replaced your daily coffee with this once a week, you could see over $230 in savings per year. Seems like a small price to pay (pun intended) to see some extra money at the end of the year.
Just a tip on saving, when I have something that I budget for like a coffee each week. If I don’t spend that money, because I have saved it by doing something like this, I will actually take the money out and put it into an envelope. That way I can tangibly see the savings. If you do this throughout the year, you could see Christmas paid for at least, and maybe even a Vacation that you have been dreaming of.
