Crispy Ramen Noodle Pancake

This is AMAZING!  I can hardly believe this Crispy Ramen Noodle Pancake side dish costs around 10c (depending on the sale you find on Ramen Noodles).  You can use almost any flavor.  I use Beef flavored Ramen Noodles when serving it along with steak and use pork or chicken flavor when serving it along with chicken.

This recipe makes (1) 6″ Pancake.  That is enough for 2 side dishes.  If you are looking to feed 4 or more, you may want to double the recipe and use a plate to help you flip the pancake to keep it from breaking up.  The way you use a plate is that you slide the Crispy Ramen Noodle Pancake onto the plate from the pan, then quickly flip the plate over onto the pan to get the other side browned.

Another idea for this (since it is almost like having a blank palate), add taco seasoning instead of the Ramen Flavoring Packet and then top with Sour Cream and Cheese!  You just took it southwest!  LOVE that idea!

Ok, here is the recipe for the ONE 6″ Pancake:

Crispy Ramen Noodle Pancake

Ingredients:

  • 1 Package of Ramen Noodles (Beef, Chicken or Pork flavor)
  • 1/2 of the Seasoning packet that came with the Ramen Noodles
  • 1-2 Green Onions sliced thinly
  • 2 Tablespoons of frozen green peas (Optional)

Directions:

  1. Cook noodles according to the package directions stopping just before time.  My package directions were to boil for 3 minutes, I stopped at 2 minutes and 30 seconds.
  2. Drain the noodles and immediately rinse with cold water to ensure the cooking process stops.
  3. Transfer the drained and cooled noodles to a large bowl and add the green onions, green peas and toss with 1/2 of the seasoning packet.
  4. In a large skillet (Preferably non-stick), heat a teaspoon of oil to medium-high.
  5. Add noodle mixture to the center of the pan, piling it all in the center.  Then FIRMLY, with the back of your spatula, press the noodle mixture out into a pancake.
  6. Cook for 5-7 minutes (or until crispy and golden brown.
  7. Flip the pancake and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  8. Cut in half and serve as side dish.

I love this Crispy Ramen Noodle Pancake and I hope you do too.  I am going to keep searching for more recipes to make with those yummy Ramen Noodles.  :)  Who knew they could be so versatile!?!
