Homemade Pizza Pockets

Homemade Pizza Pockets Make Dinner Fun

You’ve seen the commercials for pizza pockets on tv.  Who knows what’s really in those though.  And honestly, I haven’t had one that I really like.  It’s fast food from your microwave but not necessarily the healthiest.  So what if you could make Homemade Pizza Pockets with a few ingredients you can get at your favorite grocery store, in about 30 minutes, in your kitchen?  Sounds amazing to me.  I have to tell you, they tasted amazing too!  Your favorite pizza toppings rolled up in an easy to eat Homemade Pizza Pocket, fresh from the oven in less than 15 minutes.  Fast meals don’t get much better than that.

Your Favorite Ingredients for Homemade Pizza Pockets

Finding ingredients for Homemade Pizza Pockets is pretty easy.  Frozen bread dough is the crust.  To make things go faster, place a loaf or two in a gallon size plastic zippy bag and thaw in the refrigerator all day.  When you are ready to make dinner, the bread dough will be perfectly thawed and ready to roll out.  As for fillings, my favorites are Italian sausage and pepperoni, with a fire roasted pizza sauce.  Use what you love.  Crab meat, mushrooms, cream sauce, ground beef, everything works!  When you make Homemade Pizza Pockets, you get to make combinations that you can’t find in a box in the freezer section.  Don’t forget the cheese!  I add an Italian blend, but mozzarella, or even cheddar, works well.

  10. Serve hot.
