Devotional: Righteousness – 1/11/13

Today, the verse that sticks out at me is:

For the LORD is righteous, He loves righteousness; His countenance beholds the upright. — Psalm 11:7 (NKJV)

There is so much there to meditate on and yet I am just stuck on the first part.

First, it says that the LORD is righteous.  We know from Deuteronomy 32:4 that means He is PERFECT and there is no injustice in Him.

He is the Rock, His work is perfect; For all His ways are justice, A God of truth and without injustice; Righteous and upright is He. Deuteronomy 32:4

My meditation today is on God and His Glory.  His perfection, His righteousness.  When I look upon these things, I am forced to see my own sinful self.  These sin clothes that I wear are no match for His Righteousness.  This is when I thank God for Jesus.   Without Jesus, God must find me sinful and worthy of death and hell.  However, with Jesus, I get the pure imputation of His righteousness.  Now, that is Amazing Grace!
