Cool Lime Refresher or Natural Refreshing Teas?
I was recently at a Starbucks and I purchased this great drink they have called a Cool Lime Refresher. It was lime, mint, and sweet, all rolled into one cup. I was in love. I had finally found something that I could get when I was out and about, that wasn’t iced tea or plain old water. I was PSYCHED! And then I went home and searched the internet to see what ambrosia I was drinking, since the barista had no idea what was in it. Ugh! That was bad plan. Fruit juice concentrates, erithritol (a sugar alcohol industrially created through fermentation), and a whole list of vitamins from unlisted sources. While I’m not a food snob, I do like to try and keep things as natural as possible, so I set out to make a similar drink, just as refreshing, but much more natural. Natural Refreshing Teas were born.
Natural Refreshing Teas Make a Great Summer Beverage!
I started with a wonderfully light green tea, something to give a bit of kick to my day, but not enough to give me the jitters when I drink several glasses of my new favorite Natural Refreshing Teas. To that, I added some muddled blackberries and Agave syrup, just enough for flavor and a touch of sweetness, but not so much to ruin my calorie intake for the day. You can add an artificial sweetener if you like to eliminate the calories the Agave gives. Slices of lemon, lime, and cucumber round out the flavors, and brighten just a plain tea to something amazing. When available, I love to crush up some mint or a mint tea to make it even more refreshing.
