Homemade Pizza in 30 Minutes!

Who would have thought you could have YUMMY Homemade Pizza in 30 minutes or less?  A friend of mine told me that it was possible, and I thought she was NUTSO!  I mean, yeast dough takes time to rise.  She said…no, I have this recipe for No Rise Pizza Dough.  I am in!

I have made this recipe for Homemade Pizza so many times that I have finally perfected it to where I get a yummy cracker thin crust that actually crunches.

So without further ado – let’s get crackin’ on the recipe:

Fresh Homemade Pizza in 30 Minutes or Less


  • Dough:
  • 1 pkg Active Dry Yeast (or about 1 Tablespoon)
  • 1 Cup Warm Water (between 90 and 115 degrees)
  • 2 1/2 Cups Flour (white or wheat is no difference, as long as you cut the whole wheat flour with about 1/2 white flour)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • Have Oil available for oiling your hands
  • Sauce:
  • 1 part tomato paste
  • 3 parts your favorite spaghetti sauce
  • Toppings of your choice. My girls prefer Mozzarella Cheese and Parmesan Cheese.


  1. Preheat your oven to 450 degrees.
  2. In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in the warm water. Stir it around and make sure that the water becomes a little foamy. It should smell like bread.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt and sugar. Add the warm yeast water and stir with a wooden spoon. The dough will be WET and sticky. Continue to stir it and fold it over withe the spoon. Once all the flour is completely incorporated, turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and then cover with a dishtowel and let it sit for about 8-10 minutes.
  4. Once the dough relaxes enough for you to work with it, oil your hands and knead the dough a few times. Place on a pizza stone (if you don't have a pizza stone, you can use a pizza pan with holes in in, or a regular pan, but the crust may not be as crispy on a regular pan). I actually roll out the dough with a rolling pin. Make it as flat as you can. Just a tip, make it a little larger than your pan so you can pinch the crust all the way around to make the rounded lip of a normal pizza.
  5. PRICK THE DOUGH. This is one of the most important steps. Take a fork and prick the dough all over inside the pizza crust edge.
  6. Bake at 425 degrees for 8 minutes without toppings. If you are baking this on a regular pan, bake it for 8 minutes or until the crust completely holds it's shape, then you can transfer the topped pizza to cook directly on the rack for a crispier crust.
  7. Make the sauce, combine the Tomato Paste and your favorite spaghetti sauce.
  8. Top your pizza. Sauce first, then Parmesan cheese, then toppings of your choice and mozzarella cheese.
  9. Bake at 425 degrees for 8-10 minutes until golden brown. I use a pizza stone, and set my oven rack on the second to lowest position. This ensures the crust gets very crispy.

That is pretty simple, right.  About 8-10 minutes for the dough, and about 15-20 minutes for the total cooking time.  This makes Homemade Pizza FASTER than most delivery services.  And MUCH cheaper too.  And since you control the ingredients you use, you get to control the quality and healthfulness of your pizza.

I made this homemade pizza yesterday with my girls on spring break.  They had such a great time stirring and trying to flatten the dough.  This is definitely a great meal to make with kiddos.
