Simple Ingredients for Grandma’s Best Potato Salad

I start off my Grandma’s Best Potato Salad with red potatoes.  They give the salad a creamy, smooth texture without falling apart after being boiled.  Diced onion and celery give the salad a bit of a crunch as well as great flavor.  The secret is in the dressing though.  Many potato salads I’ve had only use mayonnaise as the dressing.  Grandma’s Best Potato Salad uses a combination of mayonnaise, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, and seasonings such as celery salt, salt, and pepper.  It’s an easy dressing that gives you a ton of flavor but at a low cost.  It really makes Grandma’s Best Potato Salad the best you’ve ever had.

Other Additions for Grandma’s Best Potato Salad

It’s really easy to change up Grandma’s Best Potato Salad.  Grilled chicken or a drained can of tuna takes Grandma’s Best Potato Salad from a side dish to a meal.  I’ve added all kinds of vegetables to it, not only to expand it out but also to change the flavor just a little bit.  My favorites are cucumbers and roasted red peppers.  Adding diced sharp cheddar really ups the flavor as well.  Grandma’s Best Potato Salad is a great dish to take to a gathering, or just a simple dish to have at your next backyard barbecue.
