Mint Pistachio Almond Milkshakes Main

Homemade Mint Pistachio Almond Milkshakes are a great way to get the flavor of the fast food mint milkshakes at less than half the cost at home, with ingredients that you can pronounce.  Just because you crave something that’s not “health food” doesn’t mean you have to eat unhealthy food!

The Ingredients Matter in Mint Pistachio Almond Milkshakes

A quality ice cream is always a plus in a good milkshake, but you have to like the ice cream if you are going to love the milkshake.  I chose Blue Bell, because I love the flavor and texture.  It’s creamy and thick, like an old fashioned ice cream.  I use heavy whipping cream in my Mint Pistachio Almond Milkshakes because it keeps the thickness of the ice cream, while making it a drinkable liquid.  You can use regular milk if you like.

A number of years ago, the jar for my Oster blender, handed down to me from my grandfather, was broken.  I picked up the mess and headed to the internet to find a new one.  In the process, I found this great milkshake blade that works in any standard blender!  Since I was on a milkshake kick, it found a new home in my blender.  You can make Mint Pistachio Almond Milkshakes with any blender, but if you are a milkshake-a-holic, check the webs for a milkshake blade.  The only downside is it doesn’t chop frozen fruit very well, so I do that by hand before making a milkshake.

Why Kids Don’t Get All the Fun with Mint Pistachio Almond Milkshakes
