Little Smokies with Grape Jelly

THE Lost Recipe – Slow Cooker Little Smokies with Grape Jelly

It’s definitely that time of year again.  Football has started.  Three games a week are shown at my house, and amongst all the whooping and hollering, I don’t have a whole lot of time to fuss over snacks and refreshments.  So I pull out this fantastic Lost Recipe – Slow Cooker Little Smokies with Grape Jelly.  I remember people making these for family gatherings, and no one could ever figure out what the exact recipe was.  There are a lot of different ones, but this is my absolute favorite for Little Smokies with Grape Jelly.  And the best part is, you drop everything in the slow cooker and you’re pretty much done, besides giving it a stir every once in a while!

Little Smokies with Grape Jelly – The Secret Ingredient

I used to think that the secret ingredient to Little Smokies with Grape Jelly was the grape jelly.  Since then, I’ve found that the jelly is almost always a constant thing.  It’s what’s paired with the grape jelly in Little Smokies with Grape Jelly that makes it fantastic.  I always use barbecue sauce.  It makes the Little Smokies with Grape Jelly almost a sweet and sour dish.  Choose a barbecue sauce that you like for the best results.  I love Garland Jack’s because it has no high fructose corn syrup, or things I can’t pronounce.  The flavor is great, and perfectly smokey.  These will be gone in no time.

Other Sauces for Little Smokies with Grape Jelly

The other sauce that I’ve seen used is mustard instead of the barbecue sauce.  It adds a bit more tang to the dish, which some people like.  You can still make it the slow cooker.  Add a small container of yellow mustard to the Little Smokies with Grape Jelly.  No one will be able to guess what you used but they will love it.  So grab you slow cooker and make Little Smokies with Grape Jelly for your next football gathering!
