Nutella Gem Cookies…You Made What?!?

Nutella Gem Cookies are one of those delicious treats that you eat and think, why didn’t I think of that?!?  I was wondering the same thing when I was looking at an unbaked tube of sugar cookie dough in my refrigerator, and a container of Nutella that I had purchased for some cupcakes.  Well, the cupcakes didn’t work out, but the Nutella Gem Cookies are AMAZING!

Make Nutella Gem Cookies with Your Kids

Nutella, if you’ve never tried it, is this great chocolate hazelnut spread, something like peanut butter, but so much better.  It’s creamy and fantastic with so many things, especially with cookies.  I’ve spread it on peanut butter cookies before, but this is even better.  Just a small dollop on a sugar cookie, topped with another sugar cookie, and baked.  It’s a pocket full of chocolaty, hazelnut goodness that can’t be beat.  And one of the best things about them is they are fun to make with your kids.  They will love pressing the edges and watching Nutella Gem Cookies flatten out as they bake.

Nutella Gem Cookies are Great for Bake Sales!

People love new things at bake sales, so why not introduce them to Nutella Gem Cookies?  They travel well, and are fast to make, which are both great for bake sales in my book!  Stop by the store on your way home, pick up a couple of tubes of cookie dough and a container of Nutella and you are all set for some quick baking fun!  You’ll have a couple dozen cookies in about an hour, and you’ll be the talk of the bake sale with Nutella Gem Cookies!

  3. Place 1/2 teaspoon of Nutella in the center of each one.
  4. Cover with another cookie and seal the edges with a fork.
  5. Bake in the oven for 12 minutes, until golden brown.
