Passionate Pink Lemonade

Fresh Squeezed Passionate Pink Lemonade

There’s nothing quite as good as a glass of freshly squeezed Passionate Pink Lemonade.  Tart and sweet, the old fashioned flavor is reminiscent of days long gone, sitting on a porch swing and sipping the day away.  Even in the middle of winter, a tall glass of Passionate Pink Lemonade is a fantastic way to rehydrate your body and give it some much needed pep!  Lemons have a lot of great vitamins and minerals such as vitamin C, B-complex, and potassium, making Passionate Pink Lemonade a better choice than soft drinks or so-called sports drinks.

Making Passionate Pink Lemonade from Scratch

Making Passionate Pink Lemonade from scratch is really super easy.  Start with fresh, somewhat soft lemons. (Hard lemons aren’t really ripe and overly soft lemons are past their prime.  Choose lemons that have a little give and roll them on the counter firmly to make squeezing them easier!)  I dissolve the sugar in warm water before adding the lemon juice, so the final Passionate Pink Lemonade isn’t crunchy.  And now for the secret ingredient that keeps Passionate Pink Lemonade all natural with its beautiful pink color: the juice of a blood orange.  If you’ve never eaten a blood orange, they are amazing.  Their flavor is different from a regular orange, maybe a little less sweet.  It adds color without chemicals and tweaks the flavor from amazing to out of this world.

Passionate Pink Lemonade

Passionate Pink Lemonade

  • 1 C sugar
  • 6 C warm water
  • 1 ½ C freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 blood orange, juiced

  1. Place the sugar and water in a pitcher and stir to dissolve.
  2. Add the remainder of the ingredients and chill.
  3. Serve over ice.

Passionate Pink Lemonade Now and Later

If you love the flavor of fresh Passionate Pink Lemonade and want to have it year round (blood oranges are only really available most places in the winter), you can make up the juice and freeze it for later, just like the the cans in the grocery store!  I make up the juice mixture, then place it in freezer bags in the right measurements for a perfect pitcher of Passionate Pink Lemonade.  So grab some lemons and blood oranges and squeeze a batch of Passionate Pink Lemonade into your day!
