Pot of Gold Candy Jars

Pot of Gold Candy Jars are a Great Gift

I love using jars for little pick me up gifts, and when someone I know is down, Pot of Gold Candy Jars are a perfect treat.  Golden wrapped candy fills the bottom, making these little jars look like  you’ve found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.  Layers of colored candies, such as Skittles or M&M’s bring a beautiful, cheerful color that puts a smile on anyone’s face.  I use any kind of jar I have, as I wash and save all kinds of glass jars.  They come in handy for so many things, especially little Pot of Gold Candy Jars.

Many Candies for Pot of Gold Candy Jars

You can use just about any candy that comes in multiple colors for Pot of Gold Candy Jars.  Of course, Skittles and M&M’s are good choices, but you could use Jelly Belly Jelly Beans, gummy bears, Runts, candy coated malt balls, sixlets, or even if you wanted to go with gum, Chicklets would be great too.  Use your imagination for some great choices.  You can even find candy coated sunflower seeds in a rainbow of colors that would work.  Grab a few bowls and start sorting by color for easy layering.  I chose Hershey’s Nuggets as the candy in the bottom, as it had a great gold wrapper.  If you can find them, the gold coin chocolates would be perfect in the bottom of your Pot of Gold Candy Jars.

Topping Your Pot of Gold Candy Jars

There are a lot of ways you can top your Pot of Gold Candy Jars.  If you are using a jar from something like pasta sauce, it’s easy to spray paint the lid.  I love using a chalkboard paint, or sometimes a matte black, then writing messages on the top with a white paint pen.  It’s a great way to add a pick me up message that’s personal.  You can also use a scrap of fabric over the top with a little ribbon to make the jar even cheerier.  Add a card and Pot of Gold Candy Jars are a great way to show someone you care.
