Turkey Loaf is the Best Leftover Makeover

I had a few leftovers still in my fridge, and decided to use them up in the best way I knew how: a new recipe.  I thought about the Turkey Croquettes that I love to make after Thanksgiving and figured I could make something similar, but in a loaf form, in the oven.  Turkey Loaf was created.  And it was so good!  I grabbed the turkey, stuffing, some onions, and of course some garlic, and the flavor combination was fantastic.  A quick run through the oven and dinner was on the table.  It was a great way to use up the leftovers that everyone was a little bit tired of eating as sandwiches.

Choosing Leftovers for Turkey Loaf

I had lots of turkey leftover for so Turkey Loaf was a natural choice for dinner.  I had quite a bit of stuffing leftover too, the kind that wasn’t in the bird when it was cooked.  That seems to be the longest lasting leftover in my fridge.  Of course that had to be tossed in.  I realized that I didn’t have any eggs, so onions, garlic, and a little half n half took their place.  It was a fantastic combination of ingredients that made a perfect Turkey Loaf.  But wait!  There’s more!  I topped my Turkey Loaf with barbecue sauce for a tangy addition to the savory loaf.  It was a total hit at my table!  You could also toss in any leftover vegetables that you have for even more flavor!  Anything works with Turkey Loaf.

Savory Turkey Loaf


  • 4 C leftover turkey
  • 2 C stuffing
  • 2 small onions, peeled and quartered
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • ¼ C half n half
  • 1 C barbecue sauce


  1. Heat oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Place the turkey, stuffing, onions, and garlic in a food processor and pulse until finely ground.
  3. Mix with the half n half until the mixture forms a loaf.
  4. Place on a baking sheet and form into a loaf.
  5. Bake 30 minutes, until a loaf turns golden brown.
  6. Cover with barbecue sauce and bake an additional 10 minutes.
  7. Serve hot.
