Fast and Easy: Crock Pot Pasta Sauce

Crock Pot Pasta Sauce is a fantastic way to make something once and freeze half of it for later.  I love to make a big pot full of sauce, letting it simmer all day and the scent waft through the house.  It’s a family favorite and the resulting sauce can be used not only for all sorts of pasta dishes, but also as a delicious pizza sauce, with a few added herbs and spices.  It’s truly one of the most versatile sauce recipes I’ve ever made.

How Easy is Crock Pot Pasta Sauce?

This sauce is so easy, my kids can toss it into the Crock Pot and turn it on.  Plus, it’s expandable to however much you need.  So if you have a huge Crock Pot, you can fill it up, or if you only want to make enough for one evening, you can do that too.  It’s amazing how easy it is to make 2 servings or 30, and no matter how many servings you make, the flavor is still the same.  The recipe below for Crock Pot Pasta Sauce is for 2-3 servings.   I start with canned tomatoes, either home canned or from the store.  They both work.  I try to get whole tomatoes, so they have some body do them when you cook them all day.  Tomato paste thickens the mix easily, so you don’t have to cook off any water that is released from the whole tomatoes.  The Crock Pot Pasta Sauce is rounded out by a few herbs and spices, then cooked all day to make a thick, fresh and fabulous Crock Pot Pasta Sauce that you will want to use for all your pasta dishes!
